Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion is located in the heart of
Jerusalem, overlooking the Old City walls. The College is part of an educat-
ional complex comprising the Skirball Center for Biblical & Archaeological Re-
search, whcih houses the Nelson Glueck School of Biblical Archaeology and the
Skirball Museum. It also includes the Beit Shmuel Guesthouse, Cultural Center
and headquarters of the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism and theater as
well as the Israel Office of the Union of American Hebrew.

RAU ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
_

The Rau Administration Building contains the William Murstein Synagogue and
the Administrative Offices of the College. This includes the offices of the Dean
and Associate Dean, Admisnistrative Director, Registrar's Office of Student of
University Student Programs, the Bookskeeping Department and the Maint-
enance Department offices as well as the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) -
Israel Offices.

BERNARD HELLER TORAH CENTER (CLASSROOM COMPLEX)

The classrooms, located in the Rabbi Bernard Heller Torah Center are clustered
around a reflecting pool in the Albert and Marilyn Gersten Courtyard. Among
the classrooms are the Music Room and the Offices of the Cantorial Program.
The teacher's Offices as well as the Arnold and Muriel Rown Faculty Conference
Room (the Teacher's Room) are located on the second floor of the Classroom
Complex.

GOTTSCHALK FAMILY STUDENT LOUNGE (THE MOADON)
_

The Student Lounge is open from 7:30am to 5:00am. Arrangements can be
made to extend the hours, in consultation with the Officer of Student Services.
There is a microwave and refrigerator available.
Student lockers are located in the rear of the lounge.

CAMPUS GYM
_
_
There is a gym, equipped with treadmill, stationary bike, eliptical, free weights
and weight lifting machine located in the bomb shelter in the underground
parking lot, next to the Moadon. Students can register to use the facilities for
a 50 NIS annual fee and will be issued keys to the facilities.

FEINSTEIN BUILDING

Located opposite the Stundent Lounge, the Feinstein Building comprises the
residence of the President of HUC-JIR on the top floor, the offices of the
Israeli Rabbinic and Eduacational Enrichment Programs and a pre-school
nursery and kindergarten on the lower floors.

ABRAMOV LIBRARY

The S.Zalman and Ayala Abramov Library is open Sunday - Thursday from
8:15am - 4:45pm. In past years, students were paid to keep the library open
after hours. Hours may be extended during exam periods and abbreviated
during vacations. Please see the Head Libarian if you are interested in working.
Reserve materials that are needed for course work are found at the Circulation
Desk. They may be checked out at 4:30 pm for next day return at 9:00 am.
You may borrow up to four book from the general collection for two weeks. The
library collection supports your classroom curriculum as well as outside research
and reading. The librarians will be happy to offer bibliographic assistance.
The general reading areas are quiet areas. To avoid unpleasant situations
please limit group study and personal conversation to the study and seminar
rooms.
Classes vary in character and libraries need change. We are always interested
in hearing your suggestions and constructive critism regarding acpuisitions and
library procedures.

SKIRBALL MUSEUM OF BIBLICAL ARCHAEOLOGY

The Skirball Center for Biblical and Archaeological Research and Museum
comprises the offices of the Nelson Glueck School of Biblical Archaeology and
the museum itself which highlights its excavations at Dan, Gezer and Aroeo.
